The Southern Museum will host a Sensory Friendly Afternoon, creating a welcoming environment for visitors with Autism Spectrum Disorder, sensory processing issues, or special needs. All ages can explore the museum at their own pace, with themed story times at 3 PM and 4 PM. General admission applies, and members enter for free.
The event features the following themes for story times:
- 3 PM Topic: Building Trains; Book: Let’s Build a Little Train by Julia Richardson; Exhibit Connection: Glover Exhibit
- 4 PM Topic: Building Trains; Book: Let’s Build a Little Train by Julia Richardson; Exhibit Connection: Glover Exhibit
Additional story times for upcoming months include topics on African American History, Women’s History, underground rails, and holiday trains.
