Experience Life-Sized Performance Puppetry
The Center for Puppetry Arts will host the “Tesla vs Edison Workshop” on August 11, 2026, at 7:00 PM. This workshop offers participants a behind-the-scenes look at the Center’s production, Tesla vs Edison, focusing on the unique ensemble puppets and puppetry techniques developed for the show.
Participants will learn how these nearly life-sized figures evolved from early mockups into fully realized performance puppets. The workshop will provide hands-on experience with three different puppeteer positions: head and torso puppeteer, left arm puppeteer, and leg puppeteer. These puppets are designed to be operated by one, two, or three performers, necessitating coordination, communication, and a shared sense of breath and movement.
The workshop accommodates 18 participants, with a general admission price of $40 and a member price of $35.
