Birds Georgia Forest Walk
Sunday, August 9, 2026, 9:00 AM — 10:30 AM
This event, hosted by a Birds Georgia volunteer, will allow participants to explore the feathered inhabitants of Fernbank Forest, including both permanent residents and visiting species. It is designed for beginning birders or individuals seeking gentle terrain.
All ages are welcome to attend. The program will proceed rain or shine, though it may be canceled in cases of severe weather. Participation is limited to 20 individuals, and reservations are required.
Attendees are advised to prepare for the weather and to wear appropriate footwear for unpaved and uneven trails. It is recommended that participants bring binoculars, field guides, and water. Once the walk begins, all participants must remain with the group for the duration of the program. This walk is not suitable for strollers.
This program is free for Fernbank Museum members and Birds Georgia members.
