Bug Fest at Fernbank Museum invites visitors to explore the fascinating world of insects through hands-on activities, crafts, and educational experiences. The event offers opportunities for science, discovery, and fun.
Participation is included with general admission, while members may enter at no cost.

This activity features a scavenger hunt in the Orkin Discovery Zone, allowing participants to discover various insects.
University of Georgia: H.O Lund Club | Great Hall, 1st Floor
Visitors can engage with live insects, explore real specimen collections, and learn about insect science in interactive ways.
WunderGrubs | Great Hall, 1st Floor
WunderGrubs showcases sustainable insect farming, including a live demonstration of a modular vertical mealworm farm and various displays.
Georgia Pest Control Association | Great Hall, 1st Floor
This organization will provide hands-on activities to engage attendees in the theme of bugs.
Metro Atlanta Beekeepers Association | Great Hall, 1st Floor
Participants can learn about bees through coloring activities, view a real hive up close, and understand what to do upon encountering a swarm.
Georgia Department of Agriculture | Great Hall, 1st Floor
Attendees can engage in bug trivia, play games, meet live insects, and take photos with Randy the Roach.
University of Georgia Center for Urban Agriculture | Great Hall, 1st Floor
The center offers an exploration of preserved insect specimens and an opportunity to view butterfly wing patterns under a microscope.
University of Georgia Department of Entomology | Great Hall, 1st Floor
Visitors can meet live insects and get the chance to safely hold certain species in the Bug Zoo.
University of Georgia Urban Entomology Program | Great Hall, 1st Floor
This program focuses on urban insects and provides a detailed guide for identifying common insect pests.
Georgia Native Plant Society | Great Hall, 1st Floor
Attendees can discover the relationship between insects and native plants, exploring how insects support plant growth.
The Three Profiteers | Great Hall, 1st Floor
A live presentation showcasing various arthropods will be conducted for participants to learn more about these creatures.
