Bug Fest will take place at Fernbank Museum, offering an exploration of the incredible world of insects through hands-on activities, crafts, and learning experiences. Attendees can engage with science, discovery, and fun during this event.

Activities*

Orkin | Great Hall, 1st Floor & Orkin Discovery Zone, Third Floor
Participants can embark on a bug-filled scavenger hunt in the Orkin Discovery Zone, discovering fascinating insects along the way.


University of Georgia: H.O. Lund Club | Great Hall, 1st Floor
The H.O. Lund Club will present opportunities to meet live insects, explore real specimen collections, and engage with interactive insect science activities.


WunderGrubs | Great Hall, 1st Floor
Attendees will learn about sustainable insect farming, featuring a live demonstration of a modular vertical mealworm farm and a mini manufacturing station.


Georgia Pest Control Association | Great Hall, 1st Floor
This association will provide hands-on activities related to pest control and insects.


Metro Atlanta Beekeepers Association | Great Hall, 1st Floor
Visitors can discover the world of bees through coloring activities, observe a real hive up close, and learn how to respond to bee swarms.


Georgia Department of Agriculture | Great Hall, 1st Floor
This department offers bug trivia, games, and the chance to meet live insects, along with a photo opportunity with Randy the Roach.


University of Georgia Center for Urban Agriculture | Great Hall, 1st Floor
Attendees can explore preserved specimens and use a microscope to view the delicate patterns of butterfly wings.


University of Georgia Department of Entomology | Great Hall, 1st Floor
Participants may visit the Bug Zoo to meet live insects and have the opportunity to safely hold some of them.


University of Georgia Urban Entomology Program | Great Hall, 1st Floor
This program will provide a detailed guide to insect pests that individuals might encounter in urban environments.


Georgia Native Plant Society | Great Hall, 1st Floor
Visitors can participate in activities that explore the relationship between insects and native plants.


The Three Profiteers | Great Hall, 1st Floor
This group will present a live demonstration featuring a variety of arthropods.
