Bug Fest

Bug Fest will take place at Fernbank Museum, allowing participants to explore the incredible world of insects through hands-on activities, crafts, and educational experiences. The event promises an engaging environment for science, discovery, and enjoyment.
General admission includes participation, while members may attend at no cost.

Orkin | Great Hall, 1st Floor & Orkin Discovery Zone, Third Floor
Visitors can embark on a bug-filled scavenger hunt in the Orkin Discovery Zone, discovering fascinating insects throughout the venue.
University of Georgia: H.O Lund Club | Great Hall, 1st Floor
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet live insects, explore real specimen collections, and engage with insect science through interactive displays courtesy of the H.O. Lund Club.
WunderGrubs | Great Hall, 1st Floor
This segment features a demonstration of sustainable insect farming with a focus on a modular vertical mealworm farm, along with displays of by-products and a mini manufacturing station.
Georgia Pest Control Association | Great Hall, 1st Floor
The Georgia Pest Control Association will offer hands-on activities related to insect awareness and education.
Metro Atlanta Beekeepers Association | Great Hall, 1st Floor
The Metro Atlanta Beekeepers Association will present educational coloring activities, opportunities to observe a real hive up close, and guidance on what to do when encountering a swarm.
Georgia Department of Agriculture | Great Hall, 1st Floor
This program will feature bug trivia, games, live insect encounters, and a photo opportunity with Randy the Roach.
University of Georgia Center for Urban Agriculture | Great Hall, 1st Floor
Participants can explore preserved specimens and observe the intricate patterns of butterfly wings under a microscope, provided by the University of Georgia Center for Urban Agriculture.
University of Georgia Department of Entomology | Great Hall, 1st Floor
Visitors can interact with live insects in the Bug Zoo and have the chance to safely hold some!
University of Georgia Urban Entomology Program | Great Hall, 1st Floor
This program provides insights into urban insect pests, along with a detailed guide for participants to take home.
Georgia Native Plant Society | Great Hall, 1st Floor
Attendees can learn about the roles insects play in supporting native plant ecology with the Georgia Native Plant Society.
The Three Profiteers | Great Hall, 1st Floor
This presentation features a live showcase of various captivating arthropods.
