Inspiration will be drawn from the bold visual language of Amy Sherald: American Sublime. Participants will explore how culturally significant photographs and personal images of friends and family can be transformed through collage. This workshop aims to reinterpret imagery through an expressive lens to illuminate new perspectives and possibilities.
Attendees will learn to manipulate and transform various materials, including paper, fabric, magazines, and photographs, through cutting, tearing, and layering techniques. Each participant will create a unique composition that highlights the potential of collage to reshape narratives in visual media.
All supplies will be provided; however, participants are encouraged to bring their own photographs, printed images, or any other materials they wish to incorporate into their collage.
This event will take place at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta.
