At Actor’s Express, the upcoming production features a book and lyrics by Tom MacRae, with music by Dan Gillespie Sells, inspired by an idea from Johnathan Butterell. The show is directed by Freddie Ashley and will run from February 15 to March 3, 2024.
This performance has a runtime of 2.5 hours, including a 15-minute intermission. It is described as a joyous explosion of glitter, laughter, and love.
Freddie Ashley remarked, “As drag bans and discriminatory ‘don’t say gay’ laws pop up around the South, I believe it’s the perfect time to share this heartwarming story with bright pop music and exuberant comedy.”
