Artists and porch hosts volunteer their time and resources. The Decatur Arts Alliance is responsible for funding necessary services including police presence, crossing guards, porta-potties, event permits and insurance, and staff time. Contributions to this nonprofit organization help maintain free access to community events. It is important to note that City of Decatur taxes do not finance the Decatur Arts Alliance, and as a 501(c)(3) organization, donations are tax-deductible.
