Sensory Friendly Afternoon at the Southern Museum is scheduled from 2 PM to 5 PM. The museum transforms into a sensory-friendly environment for visitors with Autism Spectrum Disorder, sensory processing issues, or special needs. All ages are welcome, and the event is included with general admission and free for members.
The afternoon features themed story times at 3 PM and 4 PM, alongside interactive exhibit connections. Activities are planned through the year, including topics on African American history, women’s history, and more, with corresponding storybooks and exhibit connections for each month.
