The Marietta Cobb Museum of Art will host a solo exhibition titled “Celestial Perspectives,” featuring the textile artwork of Jess Self. The exhibition transforms the space into a multi-dimensional portal, showcasing intricately hand-woven pieces that draw on various patterns and techniques. The artwork, inspired by themes of the cosmos and the concept of a labyrinth, invites viewers to engage in a contemplative experience, navigating through the installation’s colors, materials, and forms.

Jess Self, based in Decatur, GA, is a sculptor and educator whose work intertwines craft traditions and storytelling. Her background includes an MFA in Sculpture from Georgia State University and a BFA from Warren Wilson College. She has exhibited her artwork nationally and internationally and received various accolades.

The exhibition runs from May 15 and will be open Tuesday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Friday to Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission prices are as follows: $10 for adults, $8 for military adults, students aged 6-18 or with a college ID, seniors aged 65 and older, and free for members and children under 6.
