On September 19, 2026, the William Root House is hosting a charming evening filled with rustic elegance. From 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM, guests can enjoy private after-hours access to the museum, complemented by a candlelit dinner on the grounds of this historic antebellum home.
The evening features a delightful multi-course meal prepared by the team at 1885 Grill. Guests will be served dishes including Sweet Potato Tartlets, Arugula Salad, Grilled Chicken Breast with Pumpkin Romesco, Roasted Root Vegetables, and Broccoli Rabe, followed by a Maple Praline Bread Pudding for dessert. While iced tea and water will be provided, attendees are welcome to bring their own beverages.
Space is limited for this intimate gathering, and reservations are required. The costs for table reservations are $360 for a four-person table, while two-person tables are currently sold out.
