Inspired by the bold visual language of Amy Sherald: American Sublime, participants will have the opportunity to explore how culturally significant photographs, as well as personal photographs of friends and family, can be transformed through collage. This workshop aims to reinterpret imagery through an expressive lens, illuminating new perspectives and possibilities.
Attendees will learn to manipulate and transform materials such as paper, fabric, magazines, and photographs through techniques like cutting, tearing, and layering. The goal is to leave with a unique composition that demonstrates how collage can reshape stories told through visual media.
All necessary supplies will be provided; however, participants are encouraged to bring their own photographs, printed images, or other materials they wish to incorporate into their collages.
This event will take place at the High Museum in Atlanta.
