Create a Customizable Puppet!
On August 20, 2026, and March 15, 2027, The Center for Puppetry Arts will host a workshop titled “Build Moving-Mouth Rod Puppet,” designed for individuals aged 16 and older. Led by Puppet Shop Foreman Sam Carter, this workshop aims to demystify the process of creating a rod puppet with a functional mouth mechanism.
Participants will use a ready-made DIY kit known as a “Boopos Blank,” developed by Sam. Throughout the session, he will guide attendees in assembling their own Boopos Blank kit, allowing them to create a working rod puppet by the end of the workshop. Basic hand tools and adhesives will be utilized during the process.
All materials necessary to complete the Boopos Blank puppet kit will be provided. Attendees are encouraged to bring along any additional materials they wish to use for customizing their puppet into a distinct character.

The general admission price for each workshop is $180.
