About the Guide
Scott Morris (he/him) is an architectural historian, cultural resource planner, and educator, originally from the City of Atlanta. He teaches in Georgia State University’s Heritage Preservation program and provides consultation for various art and design projects throughout the city.
Know Before Attending
The tour will begin at the intersection of Myrtle St NE and 8th St NE, covering an approximate walking distance of one mile. Assistive-listening devices will be available, and lightweight collapsible stools can be requested in advance. Attendees should be aware that restrooms will not be accessible until reaching Piedmont Park.
About Art and About Walking Tours
This program aims to engage the community of Atlanta through art. Participants will walk alongside local creatives, historians, and other community members in tours focusing on topics such as public art, street art, architecture, and cultural histories. The Art and About Walking Tours are scheduled throughout the year in various Atlanta neighborhoods, with each tour involving between 1 to 2 miles of walking. Assistive-listening devices will be provided, and folding stools are available upon request.
