Bug Fest

Bug Fest will be held at Fernbank Museum, offering attendees an opportunity to explore the remarkable world of insects through hands-on activities, crafts, and educational experiences. This event includes a variety of family-friendly activities focused on science and discovery.

Orkin | Great Hall, 1st Floor & Orkin Discovery Zone, Third Floor
Participants can engage in a bug-filled scavenger hunt within the Orkin Discovery Zone, discovering various insects along the way.
University of Georgia: H.O Lund Club | Great Hall, 1st Floor
This segment invites attendees to meet live insects, explore real specimen collections, and learn about insect science in interactive ways with the H.O. Lund Club.
WunderGrubs | Great Hall, 1st Floor
WunderGrubs will present sustainable insect farming through a live demonstration of a modular vertical mealworm farm, along with by-product displays and a mini manufacturing station.
Georgia Pest Control Association | Great Hall, 1st Floor
Attendees can participate in hands-on activities with the Georgia Pest Control Association to learn more about insects.
Metro Atlanta Beekeepers Association | Great Hall, 1st Floor
The Metro Atlanta Beekeepers Association will present opportunities for coloring activities, close observation of a real hive, and education on handling swarms.
Georgia Department of Agriculture | Great Hall, 1st Floor
Participants can engage in bug-related trivia, games, and meet live insects, including a photo opportunity with Randy the Roach.
University of Georgia Center for Urban Agriculture | Great Hall, 1st Floor
The University of Georgia Center for Urban Agriculture will display preserved insect specimens and allow participants to view butterfly wing patterns under a microscope.
University of Georgia Department of Entomology | Great Hall, 1st Floor
This activity includes the Bug Zoo, where participants can meet live insects and have opportunities to hold some under supervision.
University of Georgia Urban Entomology Program | Great Hall, 1st Floor
Attendees can discover urban insects and receive a detailed guide on insect pests commonly encountered in daily life.
Georgia Native Plant Society | Great Hall, 1st Floor
The Georgia Native Plant Society will provide insights into the relationships between insects and native plant health.
The Three Profiteers | Great Hall, 1st Floor
This segment features a live presentation showcasing a variety of arthropods, providing a captivating look into their world.
