This exhibition invites attendees to explore the works of Walter Wick, a prominent photographic illustrator. Over his decades-long career, Wick’s award-winning books, including the I SPY! and Can You See What I See? series, have engaged readers across cultures and generations. His artistry combines elements of craft and technology, inspiring discovery and wonder.
The event at the High Museum in Atlanta will feature the largest survey of Wick’s work to date. It will highlight his unique storytelling approach through beloved pieces such as Yikes!, Clouds, and City Blocks from I SPY Fantasy, alongside rarely seen works, including early photographs of optical illusions in nature and various three-dimensional models used for his photographs. The exhibition will also examine themes that have long captivated Wick, including miniature worlds, optical illusions, “I spy” games, puzzle challenges, and scientific wonders.
