The High Museum of Art in Atlanta will host an exhibition featuring the works of Walter Wick, a renowned photographic illustrator. Over his decades-long career, Wick has produced award-winning books, including the I SPY! and Can You See What I See? series, which have engaged readers from diverse backgrounds and generations, merging art, craft, and technology to ignite curiosity and discovery.
This exhibition will present the most comprehensive survey of Wick’s work to date, highlighting his innovative storytelling techniques through well-loved pieces such as Yikes!, Clouds, and City Blocks from the I SPY Fantasy collection. It will also showcase rarely seen works, including his early photographs of optical illusions found in nature and several three-dimensional models integral to his photographic compositions. The exhibition will explore themes that have consistently intrigued Wick, including miniature worlds, optical illusions, “I spy” games, puzzle challenges, and the marvels of science.
