Puppet Camp | Ages 5-17

Put a little whimsy into summer vacation

The Center for Puppetry Arts invites young artists, performers, and creators to engage in a week (or two) of creative confidence-building through the Puppet Camp program. This unique offering in Atlanta encompasses puppet parties, parades, shows, and showcases.

Registration Information

Rising Kindergarten through 1st grade. All young participants must be 5 years old before the start date of the camp. This play camp emphasizes creativity and imaginative play, allowing campers to create, play, and engage in puppetry.

Camp operates Monday-Friday, from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with campers taking home a new puppet each day.

Rising Grades 2–3. This group of older campers will focus on storytelling and art. The camp will encourage campers to embrace their unique styles while engaging in puppet-related activities.

Rising Grades 4-5. This camp will delve into the arts surrounding puppetry. Campers will learn simple stitching, pattern drawing, and how to create puppets using papier-mâché.

Middle School. This camp focuses on the unique set of skills and voices of middle-grade campers. They will collaborate to create and perform a short story on Friday afternoons.

This two-week intensive program will emphasize collaboration, creation, and performance. The final performance will occur on the second Friday at 2:00 PM, with dismissal following the performance.

*High School campers who have completed two or more summers at Puppet Camp may apply to be Junior Counselors and receive a $50 discount on their camp fee.

9:30-9:50 AM – Morning break

9:50-11:10 AM – Morning Session 2

11:10-11:30 AM – Outdoor time (weather permitting)

11:30 AM-12:30 PM – Lunch Hour

12:30-1:30 PM – Afternoon Session 1

1:30-1:50 PM – Afternoon break

1:50-3:15 PM – Afternoon Session 2/Clean up

3:30 PM – Dismissal.

Camp K-1– $380 for 4 days; $360 for members (pricing for the week of June 15-18 only)

Camps K-5– $400 for the week; $380 for members

Middle School Camp– $450 for the week; $430 for members

High School Intensive (9-day intensive) – $800 for 9 days; $780 for members
