Viktor & Rolf: Bold Fashion Statements at the High Museum of Art!

AEJuice I Want It All Bundle – Animation Toolkit

The High Museum in Atlanta is currently hosting an exhibition featuring the acclaimed Dutch fashion artists Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren. For more than three decades, these self-identified fashion outsiders have navigated the intersections of haute couture and art. They refer to themselves as fashion artists, skillfully blurring the lines between clothing and art through their unconventional creations. Renowned for their exceptional technical prowess and innovative approach to design, Viktor & Rolf draw upon a profound understanding of both fashion and history.

This exhibition marks the first dedicated showcase of their work in the United States and is also the inaugural project sponsored by the Lauren Amos Fashion Project at the High Museum of Art. It includes over one hundred of Viktor & Rolf’s most daring and avant-garde pieces, accompanied by videos, sketches, dolls, and photographs that illuminate their creative process. Their collections typically start from abstract ideas, with each phase of conceptual and technical development carefully considering the final fashion show. Unlike traditional catwalk presentations, their shows resemble performances where they serve as storytellers, directors, and often participants. By thinking outside the box, combining disparate elements, and continually challenging the limits of imagination, Viktor & Rolf create designs that are uniquely captivating.
