Program Overview:
Founded in 1987, Atlanta’s Traditional Okinawan Karate-do Dojo emphasizes traditional instruction in Shorin Ryu and Shudokan Karate-do. The program focuses on authentic karate training, including internal power development and self-defense techniques. Students are taught in an environment promoting cooperation and mutual respect, fostering holistic individual development.
The Dojo is suitable for both beginners and experienced practitioners, aiming to enhance physical and mental strength in today’s changing landscape. The teaching philosophy differentiates itself from sport karate, emphasizing techniques developed for self-defense over centuries. Moeller Sensei, who has over 30 years of experience, integrates principles from T’ai Chi Ch’uan, Hung Gar Kung Fu, and Aikido into the curriculum. He is also the author of “Karate-Do Foundations,” published in 1995.
